JIMMY Q FROM 12 NEWS

12NEWS Main Weather Guy Moving To Mornings Starting Monday......Fay Fredricks On Facebook Just Announced Jimmy Q Evening Wether Guy Moving To Mornings.........WOW...Who Is Now Going To Be The New main Weather Person For Weekday Evenings Now ......Is It Going To Be Caribe......Have To Watch To Find Out......

What on earth is going on over at 12??? ??? They've basically blown up the Morning shows and the Early Evening shows. I'll have to watch 12 News Weekend Today to see who's anchoring that newscast. Who knows...it might be Cooney and Curtis!!! Are there any spare anchors left at 12??? With Sarah leaving and Caribe on EVB Live, they are drastically short on weather people.

I guess someone felt the need to shake EVERYTHING up! :D :D

BREAKING NEWS from 12 News at 10pm:

1. Confirmed that Jimmy Q is moving to mornings.

2. Confirmed that Caribe will be the evening weather anchor.

Phoenix has some weird sets of meteorologists/weather presenters.

3: Royal Norman's their chief, the #2-most-experienced weatherman in Phoenix, but Brittany and others appear on a basis that can confuse anybody.

5: The flavor of the month is still Dunn-Kadah-Horton. Glad they sent off Steve Garry, the "Glenn Beck of weather".

10: Dave Munsey's going on 35 years, but he's not a meteorologist. Is Jayme King the chief? What about Cory?

12: See above.

15: Who knows. Amber Sullins seems to be coming back, and Rich is likely the new chief. Bill Bellis's new home, WFLD, is tanking. It was at the bottom last year, but it managed to have a 32% drop from THAT level.

3 -- I think Royal just takes a lot of vacation or maybe he has a bunch of public speaking engagements.

5 -- Don't forget the new weather anchor in the morning (Katie something, I think). Paul has taken more of a co-anchor role.

10 -- Jayme's the best they have. Dave's phoning it in. Corey is weird. :D

12 -- We'll see if Jimmy Q works any better in the morning. He's the real weak point in their weather team. They should have kept Sarah, but I'm sure Jimmy's contract runs longer and ethnicity was an important consideration. I'm sure Caribe will do fine, unless there is breaking weather during the newscast (she seems to get flustered at times)

15 -- Are they ever going to hire a new chief met or officially name Rich the chief met?!? Allison is smooth on the weekends.

Sarah confirmed on Facebook that 12News was shuffling the weather lineup and in that she was being squeezed out.

It's too bad that Sarah couldn't have been switched to weekend evenings plus noon three days per week and have Rob do weekend mornings plus noon two days per week. But I'm sure it comes back to Sarah's salary. They will probably get a cheap 4th weather person from Yuma.

Always fun to watch them shuffle the deck chairs on the Titanic. It makes perfect sense that changing the weather guessers around will improve ratings. Perhaps they should also change the name of the 4pm newscast and tell people it's not really a newscast, just a show with news in it. Yeah, that's the ticket!

Oh, and make sure that the 12 News logo is prominently displayed in the advertisements for the show with news in it that is not a newscast. Then, develop a promo that says "It's all on 12 News" featuring all of your network's primetime shows.

And to think...12 News was the best newscast in town when I arrived here eight years ago... How the mighty have fallen!

Frankly, if 12 were really serious about news, they would extend 12 News at 6pm to an hour and have expanded coverage throughout the state, including 2 or 3 reporters in Northern Arizona.

The sad part is Sarah has better training, it certified by the AMS as a Certified Broadcast Meteorologist (which is not easy to get), has been a "chief" meteorologist in the past and was probably the best prepared weather person on 12News.

I'm sure that Sarah will do fine somewhere else. Hopefully, she will land as a Chief in a market that has real weather more often than a few days in July/August and a few days in the winter.
