Jingles for WLTW

Anybody know what the evolution of jingles for WLTW would be? I've heard that they now use a package from Reel World. I was wondering who did their old jingles, anyone know? Here in Los Angeles the new jingles for WLTW’s sister station Coast 103.5 have been a recent topic with most people preferring the old KOST jingles from JAM rather than the Reel World jingles they just started airing.

This is the fist song jinglepackage for WLTW. They don't use them before, only live station ID's and some little spoken ID's. In my opinion that makes Lite special and different than the other AC stations in the country. On the otherside, the format from Lite isn't 'lite' anymore... :-[

I can sum up wgliradio's post with four words: "More Than A Feeling."

They are very similar to WBLI's current package. Totally wrong for Lite, but then again, alot has been the past 4 years.

Yes! Every time I'm somewhere where Lite FM is playing and the jingle comes on, I'm expecting to hear "106.1 B-L-I!". Those jingles sound so out of place on 106.7.

Thanks for the info. You know I thought that they didn't use jingles before and I had heard that they went Reel World recently and I wanted to be sure. If LTW's jingles sound like the ones they're blending into the format on Coast right now I'm sure they're horrible. It's not a smooth transition out of whatever song they're playing. Subpar to say the least. Plus the Coast melody is gone, replaced by a package that sounds like the ones I've heard for WLIT in Chicago. They're still using the JAM stuff at two poisitions during the hour(Top and out of the 20 break) but they'll be gone soon enough. It's all so sad. CC just doesn't get it out here.

The jingles on Lite are different from the ones on KOST - they were originally created for a CHR station. That said, I don't their "AC" jingles sound any less out of place - they have more of a pop-rock sound while the CHR ones sound more dance/electronic, but both are very loud. Although there's one mellower cut Lite uses that doesn't sound too bad.

Yes, the jingles are to fast for an AC station what's called 'Lite FM'. I think they use the name only for the 'brand' so it's 'the world famous' Lite FM from NYC so it must be good... :-\

Never heard these before, but I will check it out on iHeartRadio on my iPod Touch. The "Lite-FM" jingles was first used during the holiday season, but as of now, WLTW is starting to use jingles for "Lite-FM" made by Reel World. I don't care for these jingles, but up in Poughkeepsie which has nothing to do with New York City, WRNQ is still using jingles for "Lite-FM" on 92.1 since 2001 or 2002 and it was made by JAM, not Reel World. WCTW up in Catskill usually had the "Lite-FM" jingles since 2004 when it was on 98.5, and these jingles made by JAM. I hope WLTW will get the "Lite-FM" jingles where JAM does with both 92.1 and formerly 98.5, but I like the JAM jingles better than Reel World, but it does not belong there, give me the JAM jingles.

Reel World should really stick to CHR formats. Their AC jingles just sound awful. If you A-B between an acappella from JAM and then Reel World you'll hear an incredible difference. There's a richness to the JAM stuff that Reel World just doesn't have. JAM usually uses 5 or 7 person vocal groups, and on some a bass voice for depth. The Reel World stuff is like 4 voices with maybe one being male stacked. Not that JAM doesn't stack their vocals at times, but there's just no comparison. Plus they sound like old CHR jingles from 20 years ago. It's very jarring to come out of something very light like DHT's "Listen to Your Heart" with a RW jingle. It blows the song away abruptly. There's no flow. But it hasn't hurt WLTW. Or has it? Along with other things like the personnel changes that have been made it would seem that WLTW isn't the juggernaut that it once was. Same thing with Coast, a heritage AC that was gutted a few months after they did the same thing in New York. Of course there have been changes thanks to the PPM that could've affected their ratings. But in LA they make a big change and it takes a while to rebuild. Now they've got someone new in the programming department and they obviously have some control of the KOST PD. She never would've voluntarily changed the jingles that gave KOST its personality. Now as someone said at jinglemad.com, KOST sounds like every other station, and I'll bet LTW does now too. Major Market used to really mean something, not any more...
