Stephen,
All is well. It took us all by surprise. I know a lot of people who are out there and it never looks good when someone just unexpectedly leaves. So I understand the wanting to point immediately to someone and blaming them. The very first question I asked when my Operations Manager asked me to start removing him from the website was "Did we let him go?" I immediately thought the same thing, we must have done something to force him out. Not because I think we as bad a company as we are being billed as all the time (yes another discussion for another time) but because we are a corporation and a lot of the times the employees rarely make their own unexpected moves, especially when to the outsider (all of us who do not live with JMV) it makes no sense.
Knowing JMV for as long as I have, I understand and get it now. He started at WNDE before he was married, before he had his son, etc. So none of this mattered as much to him then. Now, he is a complete family man. He has never been the type to like to drag things on. We have asked him to stay on, he has made up his mind and refused. We asked him to come on the show and give him a proper goodbye, he has never been one for the long farewell. He would rather do it like he did it. Walk away and leave on his terms.
I get the feeling he will pop back up again and this isn't the last time you've heard of him. I am pretty sure he is continuing to do stuff at the 1-3. So who knows what he has in store for his future, but we wish him the best.
Thanks Stephen for being understanding.
As always you can visit JMV's personal facebook page and post on his wall or send him a personal message, I'm sure he would enjoy it. facebook.com/johnmichaelvincent
