Jo Jo Re: Re: Joins Star 94-1

Radio veteran JoJo Morales reported on his Facebook news feed that he has been hired for weekends at Star 94-1.

This is JoJo's third time at Star. He was first on the air there under PD Dan Bowen. He was hired for a second stint by Lincoln Financial programming head John Dimick. And now he's been brought back by PD Jerry McKenna with some help from Kannon according to JoJo's Facebook post.

A little trivia: JoJo was the very first voice on Q100 when it signed on at 100.5 in 2001. He had come from middays on New York's Z100.

I'm looking forward to listening to him this weekend.

Didn’t Tracy St. George come from Star 94 over to Q100 at the same time as JoJo? Looks like she works for WRMF/Palm Beach now. Glad JoJo is back in Atlanta.

Tracy was a weekender at Star. When Q100 signed on, she went over there with a full-time slot, middays. She's been in West Palm Beach since she left Q100, which I'm guessing was about 15 years ago. In fact, I don't think she was ever on the 97.9 signal.

Now that I'm thinking about this, I think JoJo might have been at Q100 3 times, also. He was the original afternoon driver. Then when the station had not hit its revenue target a year later, he was let go in a budget cut. Around 2004 he came back for weekends when the station was still at 100.5. I'm pretty sure he did a third tour of weekend duty after Q100 moved to 97.9.
