Joanne Doody out at WBOS?

Laurenti in my opinion brings so little to the table even for a station not known as a personality station. No spark, trying to be local but just not interesting, accent is somewhat annoying, in my opinion not ready for Boston.

P.S. as for John Laurenti "trying to be local" - he is from Dorchester (yes he does have a Boston accent) and has a very good knowledge of the music scene.

I didn't know there was a Dorchester in R.I.. ???

I heard Joanne Doody on the air on Saturday. She is doing weekends. I'm very happy to have Dana Marshall on middays as she has a better delivery and more pleasing voice. Joanne is a wonderful person, but her voice is too chirpy for MY taste. It's okay if you disagree.

I love John Laurenti. He IS Boston, but I don't think he sounds like Boston. He has a very pleasant voice and obviously does a lot of prep work to be as knowledgeable as he is. He goes to a lot of shows. His show with Steve Morse is a very interesting conversation between two generations of music lovers. John makes Morse palatable--Steve's knowledge of the Boston music scene and music in general is excellent, but his voice is not made for radio.

I think that WBOS does a great job. After spending years elsewhere listening to announcers talk about their personal life on the air, it is refreshing to hear about music and lots of music, not about the consistency of poop in junior's diaper.

Thank you for that insightful and compleletly unbiased testimonial, "Mama" Laurenti.

;D

I occasionally do listen to several morning shows - WBMX's usually. Morning shows can be interesting, though there tends to be too much ad time, during which I will usually switch to WMKK, better known as Mike-FM. Durning morning shows, there is way too much time being spent on annoying contests and cell-phone callers, whose sound quality is poor when broadcast over the radio (when will stations understand this and spend less time on listener calls?). It does appear that WBOS has given up on a real morning show, but I am of the two-out-of-ten breed that does not equate a station's morning show with the sort of music they play. WBOS is good at work, but yes, there are more stimulating things to listen to to try to wake up when driving in to work. Dana Marshall does seem good so far.
