With the format changes of the past couple of weeks, are there any openings anywhere because I'd really like to work at Venus. I think it's actually off to a better start (minus all the glitches) than when Star 97 got off the ground. Don't be surprised if at some point in the next 2 books when they pass the Buzz

As far as why I should be given a shot at my first taste of commercial radio, 1) I know the format very well since there are Hot AC stations all over the place and 2) I've done shows at my college station WVCP 88.5-Gallatin mostly solo but a couple of tag team semesters for the past few years. Most of my friends think I sound very (and I mean VERY) professional when they hear me on the air, and I try to be as professional as I can. That doesn't mean I don't have fun on the air. I can find an excuse to hit the rimshot button a couple of times each week.

Hopefully I'll have 500 fans instead of the dozen fans that I have.

If you want to get on the air, don't post a desperate message on an internet message board. Send your tape and resume to the PD at the station you want to work for, and don't sound so desperate! You might have to hound them to listen to your tape, but don't act like you've never had a job before. Be confident.

My thoughts on Venus

Doing some listening this week, actually I think the music is very good. But the Bob & Sherri show is awful, the satellite programming at night is really small town-ish, and Brad and LuLu talk obnoxiously about nothing. And the Venus name is pointless (and stupid to use that to appeal to women only to alienate the male half of the possible listening audience.) But hey, it's good to hear some Hot AC music back in Nashville.

Send 'em a tape & resume: just don't list "The Pipe Man" as a reference!<P ID="signature">______________

Sorry to disagree CR, but the Pipe Man reference will
ensure a job now that the "office" has a six foot rule.
