Job losses, falling ratings, consolidation: What’s behind the decline in local TV news

Weather is a one button push on everyone's cell phone. No longer needed on TV at all (unless heavy weather is expected or underway).
Sorry but I don’t trust that weather button on my phone at all. All it’s taken a few instances of looking at the hourly forecast showing 0% chance of precipitation while it is raining outside to make me give up on using my phone for weather.
