Job openings

Other than hisair.net, does anyone know where to find christian radio job openings? Thanks

Try contacting National Religious Broadcasters. Check CCM(Contemporary Christian Music) magazine for articles that mention specific stations. Surf the Internet for station websites. Contact larger station groups such as Salem, Way FM, EMF, American Family Radio, Moody, etc. Have the right attitude; be ready to voicetrack, write copy, take out the garbage when asked, etc.

Still check on All Access.com as well. They will post there as well. Its free, but you need to get a member name and password. If you want a job in CCM, be prepared to do WAY more than your job description as well as be paid considerably less than mainstream radio. I personally was in CCM for 9 years, and am so much happier I jumped to Country. Less hipocrits!
Good luck,

Denise,

I am sorry that you had a bad experience in Christian radio.

I have been IN and OUT of Christian radio for over 15 years. My career has been 60 percent Christian and 40 percent mainstream.

I'm currently working for Cox Radio in Country radio on air in a large market.

While I will agree that in MANY places, the pay is better in mainstream radio, to be fair, this is not the case with every situation. Trust me. I know first hand from my own experience.

As far as hypocrites go Denise, EVERYONE is a hypocrite on some level. And to say that there are fewer hypocrites in mainstream than in Christian radio is a spiritual falsehood. Hypocrisy is not a Christian problem, Denise. It's a human problem. The only difference in mainstream VS. Christian radio is that Christians have a brighter light shining on them, so their 'stuff' shows up more obviously.

The "hypocrite" response used to intimidate me when I was a brand new Christian and in a state university with a party school reputation. Nowadays however, if someone tells me they don't want to go to church because there are too many hypocrites in it I just say, "Don't let that stop you; one more hypocrite isn't going to hurt anything".
