Job Posting: FCC Recruiting Field Agents

Hmmm...was this missed around these parts?

"The FCC has openings for Field Agents in the following FCC Field Offices: New York, Boston, Chicago, Los Angeles & San Francisco. "

'Spose there might be one or two that frequent this place that might want to throw their hat into the ring for a position? ;)

Send those new agents to Houston. A lot of them. They will pay their salaries many times over with all the fines they could hand out in this market, and that’s just from translators and LPFMs.o_O:ROFLMAO:

Pay me $500 per violation and I’ll report everything I notice in my trips across the country. Translators originating programming, stations silent without an STA, overpowered stations, non directional when supposed to be directional, pirate stations, and more

Man I can't imagine trying to survive in San Francisco with only $66k/year.
I'm sure there's a stipend for cost-of-living, but probably still not enough.

Salary of $66,134 - $158,432

That salary range is an interesting posting. $66,134 is GS-9 step 1, for Los Angeles and $158,432 is GS-13 step 10 for San Francisco, using the 2023 locality pay charts.

I suspect few people would be hired at GS-9/1 but who knows.

I never had insight into the GS payscales, but it certainly reads like it would be entry-level, field-level grunt work.
