Jocks on "GenX Radio"

I was listening to 106.7 this morning and heard Rafferty on the station, so it looks like they have jocks now. Wonder how much they will talk?

Remains to be seen, but it's a good move. Rafferty's good. They've already made nice moves with Gen-X, and it seems to be getting even better -- music, imaging, air talent. Unfortunately, as long as they're stuck on that so-so signal Gen-X can never demonstrate its true potential.

What frequencies will CC Columbus sacrifice for WTVN on FM and/or for a better spot for "GenX Radio"? Don't forget the #2 spot 93.3 archived for
it's Christmas music offering over December. That makes it much tougher for CC Columbus to sacrifice that frequency for WTVN on FM. We have thought 93.3 would be the best spot for WTVN-FM over the years but it has yet to materialize.

...and the #1 spot for the just-released Holiday 2010 report, which actually covers much more of December than the last ("December") report did.

They need to syndicate Maxwell down here on GenX, whether it be morning drive or afternoon drive, it would be a good fit for him IMO;.

Although MWL is on contract with CBS, I know Rover is/was syndicated over to a CBS station while he is working for CC. So theoretically it should be possible.

I see the signal complaints and at least from my end, they don't seem founded. It comes in loud and clear in Thornville and I even pick it up easily in much of the Zanesville area, which given the terrain between here and there isn't exactly easy.

I was referring largely to interference around downtown and stretching north -- sometimes as far north as Morse Road or beyond. No doubt most of the closer-in interference is due to the Dispatch tower.

Also, in the Worthington area where Gen-X comes in reliably well in a car,  I have had trouble getting a clean signal for it in parts of some buildings -- unlike, say, the Brew.

The degree to which someone will encounter such issues can vary by individual radio and atmospheric conditions of course.  But they exist to a degree which undoubtedly limits Gen-X's potential, including in some important populous areas.

The signal is not where it should be. Never was, at least in the metro.

OK. Not living in Franklin County anymore, I can't speak to that, but that's an interesting piece of info regardless.
