..retired.
The KFYI homepage has an opening for Morning Drive News Anchor. Joe's been off the air for months and it was supposed to be temporary. Now it appears he's basically retired.
It's too bad, because Joe, besides being a great news anchor, is an even better person. Great sense of humor, never takes himself too seriously, and fun to work with.
I had seven years in the same newsroom with Joe, and it was a blast.
He was with KFYI since literally Day One, so that was about 26 or so years AT ONE STATION... Before that, he was a fixture at the legendary KOY for a whole buncha years. And before that, he was on the late, great KCLS Flagstaff. Before that, he was the PR guy for Abe Lincoln. Yeah, Joe's been around a while.
I hope - if he is truly retired - that he enjoys the view from the porch for many, many years.
