Joe Dana's Problem!

Joe had a couple of odd exchanges with Caribe this morning. In the first one, he asked Caribe if her parents were from "the islands". For the first time in her history at KPNX, Caribe was speechless. She said, "Umm, they're from the US..."

So, firmly inserting foot in mouth, Joe follows up with "Well, then your grandparents are from the islands?" Caribe said, "No". Joe replies, "Well where did your name come from? I thought the name Caribe was from the islands."

Caribe tries to explain, but the live feed was cutting in and out. So, we couldn't hear her full response. Joe concludes with "Well, obviously, I need to get to know Caribe better." WTF???? Dude, she's your weather anchor!!

It turns out that Joe totally embarrassed himself because he was trying to introduce an island food segment!!! Thank goodness he's on the Saturday am show. Boy, he's pretty green!!

That makes him perfect for GMA Saturday. Right, Olivia?

Hey, what if Joe interviewed Venus Williams? "So Venus, when did your parents decide to move to this planet"?
Technically speaking Caribe's parents could be from both "the islands" and from the U.S.
Puerto Rico (commonwealth) for example, or how about "Gitmo" on Cuba?!!

Tammy Vo's Problem

Hey, stuff happens when you go from reporter to anchor. Over the weekend FOX 10's Tammy Vo talked about the statue of Stan Musical (should be Musial) being moved to the new Cards stadium in St Louis. Her co-anchor didn't even bat an eye! But the best one Nurse Jeff and I recall was when Katie Couric asked Sean McLaughlin why his name was pronounced "Seen" instead of "Shawn"? Good question, Ms Cupcake!

Tara Hitchcock's Problem

formeraa, I think you started something that is not going to end...

The two weeks that the movie Madea's Family Reunion was the box office # 1, Tara called it mad-EE-uh when it is pronounced muh-DEE-ah. I could understand the first Monday morning but I guess nobody corrected her because she said it wrong again the second Monday morning. This happened early in the show so she possibly said it right later.
