JOE FM JOCKS

I KNOW I HAVE HEARD THE FEMALE ON MIDDAYS! SHE HAS BEEN IN OTHER MARKETS, ANYBODY KNOW WHERE SHE CAME FROM? CLEARLY THE BEST OVERALL IN STATE COLLEGE! HOW IS MAGNUM FOOTING THE BILL FOR HER PAYCHECK? I REALIZE THIS IS A LATE POST, JUST BACK IN TOWN. SO FAR THIS WEEK JOE IS IMPRESSIVE, TO SAY THE LEAST. AFTERNOON GUY DREW HE APPARENTLY STAYED OVER FROM THE FLIP, GOOD MANAGEMENT DECISION!

Her parents and they sold four other stations to afford her for a year, plus gave her 50% of all sales. They have deep pockets and she's the not only the best in SC, but I'd venture to say IN THE WORLD!

We went a long time with no buzz on "Joe", and now there are three threads on Joe and one on another Magnum station, the Surge. Curious.

For what it's worth, I seem to always surf around this site. Always new but yet the same, why is that? Like I said "for what it's worth"
It does seem the on-air talent is TOP SHELF, especially for this market! The BUZZ so to speak about JOE is well deserved and it's about time. Yes, there are other good stations and D.J's here, but you have to admit subconsiously I say to myself, "WHY DIDN"T I THINK OF THAT"?
JOE FM in Penn State Country!!! Freakin Awesome!
So let the underdog topple the frog, perhaps? They are doing something right and it is being noticed! Strengthen your signal , hit Altoona hard and it's quite possible. Remember David and Goliath?

Could they???? sure they could...anyone could given the right situations....will they??? That's a different story and honestly most people on this board do not seem to think so. If you want to topple #1, you need to be so in you face its disgusting....everywhere...all the time and I just don't see that from Joe. The businesses I note who do listen to country all "seem" to still be listening to the Frog and I know plenty of folks who you mention Joe to and they say "what's that". That's not a good indication to me. Yet if I say "The Buzz"...or the station that used to be the Buzz, people get you right away. But the new handle will take a long time to catch on as well. Heck, there are still people who think I work for Revolution 101 and we lost that name 2 years ago.

If they stick with it and hang on long term, perhaps they will do well...but I would not expect it to make a quick turnaround at least.

Heck, with a name like "Hitman", I'd think you were working for a station in 1992 :)

So true they need to really infiltrate their competitions "stomping ground" haven't seen that happen yet, however there is definetly some in your face going on,the programming gets better daily, they are always on location somewhere, and they are for sure in the key places around town. I personally will take it over froggy anytime. And yes It will take a while for joe to springboard into dial pre-set #1, but it can happen and lets just hope for the sake of radio they have time to do it. Forever isn't CC yet, buy they are on their way. Certainly you have heard about all of the recent people leaving. Can't be good, what's going on behind closed doors there? Perhaps there is a $$$ struggle that is hush, hush. Has the wicked witch of the west begun to melt?

This board has become a Radio Fantasy League for people at stations that barely exist in the real radio world. The reasons are many and varied, but the reality is that only on Radio-Info are Joe, G101, B-94.5 & The Surge (huh?) a big part of anyone's lives.

It's a playground, where fringe players can pretend they're in the game. Play on, children.

Feel free to contribute and help drag us into the "real world".

You don't know me, and I promise I eat people like you for lunch everyday! People use this board for the very reason it exists! Say what you want nobody knows who you are and give an opinion! Doesn't have to be yours just somebody's! And I think we can all agree radio isn't anywhere near the real world..but we are all in it for our own personal reasons!! So go get your blanky and your binky and complain about a fantasy world to somebody who cares. Clearly you have been done wrong by radio! We all have BOO HOO!! Don't hate the Plaayyyaaaa, hate the Game!

Dabkawn's right, radio isn't the real world. And that's a major problem. It once was. It can be. Until it is again, it's only us radio geeks who keep talking about it. The deregulation under which we currently operate has turned the industry into a carbon copy of a carbon copy of... what? Homogenized playlists, warped right slanted cuckoos (is that what the call letters stand for?) and listeners who don't mind long stretches of dead air (including some illegally long unmodulated carriers,) over modulated signals (maybe it's a froggie in their throat) and who nominate a minor-market country disc jockey the "best anywhere" because she does slightly more than read liner cards and can give a credible time and temp reading without sounding like a stuffy academic, a deep south hillbilly or a phoney 1960s top 40 personality wannabe?

Thanks Mr. Gargoyle

We clearly would have great drinks together! Only 1 disagreement with your statement, I do agree with catwalk on the 10 2 3 girl, she hands down is the best. Not to piss anyone off, I myself am wondering what her resume reads! Real world or not, at least some air staff in this market know's what it means to get it!

She sounds better than I described her. But I was being emphatic to make a point.

Gargoyles drink rainwater. It's a cheap high. You're welcome to join me here on the cathedral roof. The view is great. (I'm a Gargoyle who fears heights. I have to find another line of work.)
