Any speculation to what station he may end up at?I remember him at WIGY,WJBQ & WGAN.He's worked at a lot of the same stations south of here that Erie has worked.

in boston, he's done WHDH, WODS, WROR (both incarnations, i think,
and maybe including WVBF, too.), Magic 106.7, and of course, his long-term
"safe-haven," WATD in Marshfield.
so there was one sunday afternoon when joe was on boston's magic
(stuart street) and the studio-access push-button combination-lock broke,
keeping us in the hallway outside of the studios with no way in. the
door opened enough for us to try and yell into the studio area.
joe runs his headphones pretty loud (even on magic 106.7) so no matter
how loud we screamed for him to come an open the stooopid door,
he couldn't hear us.
thankfully, engineer wiz & nice guy paul shulins had a silence-sense
activated tape that rolled at the transmitter site in the event of
more than 10 seconds of dead air.
by the time a security guard was located to get us in the non-combination
locked door, music was on the air (on wbcs) and hotlines were ringing with
engineers checking in to see what was wrong. great system

note to joe: run the cans a little softer. ;-)

oh, and play "hey jude" for us, willya??? tp & bb asked me to write that.

thanks.

speculation as to where he lands? mornings on Oldies? something on Frank
or The Wolf? or maybe a bit of a flip in store for the Blimp?
those of "us" who know (and really, really like Joe) hope that this return
lasts longer than a book & a half, if he is indeed making a move. (and that
hope, btw, comes with the stipulation that he's not moving into any of
"our" jobs)
he tends to sour on gigs & employment rather quickly. keep in mind he's
resigned from Boston's Greater Media at least four times in the past ten years,
and he keeps getting re-hired.
great talent. nice guy. just needs pampering. ;-)

It's a tough guess.Joe himself has eliminated some stations in his post above. He's going to a 50kw fm station. So it's not Oldies 25kw,Frank 100kw or the Blimp 100kw. So starting at the bottom of the dial with 50kw stations,I don't think it's 'MGX.Tim Wright has been there a long time and the morning show isn't the problem at 93.1. Next 50kw is WJBQ.There morning show seems ok. WCLZ I don't think he fits the format. He probobly could if he wanted to but I don't think it's 'CLZ. The WOLF morning show does great in the Sunday Telegram polls. WPOR ,their morning show seems ok too.Unless he got the 50kw part wrong the only morning show opening would be on the BONE.

Why would you immediately assume he is headed to Portland? There are other areas in Maine. Why not the 50KW that Mark Osbourn just grabbed from CCU?

Former BOSTON radio vet from WROR and WODS, JOE McMILLIAN, has relocated to PORTLAND, ME. He's got roots there from his days at WJBQ and WGAN. Where will he show up? News on that soon. Meanwhile, JOE is taking his production and voicetracking biz with him and can be reached at [email protected].

I guess he could do the 97.7 show from Portland,

from some reliable sources, i understand that Coop is on the right track.
and it won't be from Portland.
maybe to AllAccess, anything in Maine 'must' be Portland? ;-)
we'll have to send them a nice new Delorme Map.
