Joe Mazza

Joe Mazza, the Lexington, MA based talk show host who had a weekly nostalgia based talk show broadcast on GCN network affiliates overnights Monday 1-4 AM, died at 66 on April 27th. His last show was on April 25th. For more details, go to www.joemassashow.com.

Surprizingly, this was not mentioned on fybush.com or boston radio watch as of yet.

The website you posted is incorrect... here's his site: http://www.joemazzatalkradio.com/

Sorry to hear of his passing. He was a very nice guy. He used to bring Sebastian his dog in to the studio with him. Wonder if he is still around? Would be 17 according to the website. Possible, but not likely.

I don't think Joe has been on the air in this area for 7 or 8 years. I didn't even think he was still doing the show on a regular basis since the demise of Talk America in Canton (then Las Vegas, then New Jersey) several years ago.

Thanks for correcting me - I misspelled.

Sebastian the dog was still around according to Joe, who mentioned this on the show a few weeks ago in response to a caller's questions. The dog was 16 but Joe said Sebastian was sick.

His show was on the GCN (Genesis Communications Network), of which the nearest station carrying the show is WICC AM 600 in Bridgeport, CT - you can hear it on its website. Last night they had a repeat show with no mention of Joe's passing. His last show was April 25th.

I suppose the one thing I'll always remember about Joe Mazza is that unmistakeable voice and accent.

If there had ever been an "Eddie Andleman Sound-Alike Contest"...Joe Mazza would have won...hands-down. ;)
