Joe:

I've been reading your posts on here for awhile now and can sympathize with you but....many of us have been in the same job situation at one time or another and have had to make difficult decisions. I think it's great you are starting your own production business but maybe it's time to get another job (doing whatever) to supplement your income until it gets going. We have all chosen radio knowing the pitfalls and volatility of the industry. I may not like it and you may not like it but it's a fact of working in the business. Honestly, your posts are taking on a very "...woe is me"...mode and I think you have to figure out how to make ends meet where you are if you are looking to stay in that part of the world because you love it there. If that includes doing what you must to keep a paycheck coming in until your production business picks up then so be it. Trust me...I am not trying to sound like a Scrooge but sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do to make it. You're obviously a talented guy and that will make you come out on the top in the end. But you need to do what you can to get money coming through the door.

Good luck and I know I'll get skewered by the board for thus "bah-humbug" attitude but I'm just calling it as i see it.

All the BEST!!

Currently, I'm house-sitting...while trying to find some permanent broadcast work. All my sources have been referenced. Hopefully, one or more will come through?

Hi Joe!

Granted...the 2 of us have seen better days when it comes to radio programming! But I'd hate to think that all stations have to sound like copycats of their competition?

I certainly can understand the desire of some radio groups to make a quick dollar or two. It's just that some of us who still LOVE WORKING (AND GETTING PAID) IN RADIO, TELEVISION AND COMMERCIAL PRODUCTION hate to accept the fact that there are only one or two types of programming that will succeed? :-\

The real question is...are the corporate kidswilling to take a few chances when it comes to what their audience or listeners truly want? ::)

Let me know how your 6-week courses turn out...okay?
