Joe,
We don't know each other, but I've heard a lot of your work on the air over the years. You're one of the very best, and you're definitely not going to be without a gig for long. You sound like you're down in the dumps right now, and all of us radio types can relate to the times we've been in a position like yours. Things will get better for you, and soon, like they have for all of us.
You must have a lot of friends in this business, so make sure you call them and ask them to spread the word that Joe McMillan is now available! There are also lots of radio stations who'd love to have your amazing voice do the voicetracking on one of their prime dayparts, and the money can be very good once you rack up a client or two or three. Who says you have to work at a physical radio station to have a good career in this business?
Take a deep breath, relax a bit, and be good to yourself. You'll move forward very soon. Just give it a little time.
I'm going to send your link to a bunch of my radio contacts right now. Enjoy your temporary vacation, because I think you'll be hearing from some GM's in short order who are hungry for great radio talent!!
Best wishes to your daughter as she sets sail upon a life of marriage. If you're the kind of guy in real life that you sound like on the radio, and I'm sure you are, she's got a great Dad. Be there for her, and don't let a temporary setback get you down.
A fan,
"Ray"
