Joe Motto/Boom Boom Branigan -WTLB

Several sources are reporting the death of Boom Boom Branigan AKA Joe Motto. Boom Boom was a legend in the Albany radio market mostly at WPTR in the 60's. I remember hearing him on WPTR. I'm not sure but I think he worked briefly at WNDR in the late 50's early 60's. He did, in fact, start his radio career at WTLB using his real name Joe Motto. In talking with fellow old radio heads, it has been decided that he may have been TLB's first night jock after the call letter switch from WGAT in 1957. He certainly was a major part of upstate N. Y. radio history. From what I have been told, a great guy.
