Joe Pags, Joe Pagliarulo

If this guy filling in on KFI double calls his name one more time----I'm going to wish him away to a detergent commerial, which is what he should actually be "voicing" instead of playing talk show host.

He does have the crutches down, with ya'!

Maybe it's a form of discrimination, as odd as this sounds, but big voice guys sound ridiculous doing talk shows. Their voice all but renders them silly-sounding while trying to use normal inflection in the course of a conversation.

This guy fills in for Glenn Beck. That's all you need to know.

Next.

I've heard worse than Joe Pags, but I certainly couldn't listen to him every night. Sean Rima is a better at that sound buts lacks a hard edge or schtick. KFI shines when its local like Handel and J&K. Its hard to sound good on KFI if you don't know the region intimately and don't have a of strong point-of-view. This might sound like a crazy idea, but I think Rich Mirotta (sp?) from the Handel show would be great on his own KFI show (yeah I know he already does a boxing show on KLAC). Rich has a great radio voice, always has an opinion (he's pretty liberal) and is eloquent and entertaining in expressing it. Mirotta has a good LA sensibility, already fits in at KFI and with a little help from Robin could turn into a strong player in the nighttime.-- And no, I'm not Rich's agent or know him personally in any way...

Rima is generally okay, until he goes off into lala land with his Hillary Clinton conspiracy theories.

Mention Clinton and their collective IQ's drop 50 points.

Maybe if they're counting their pennies in the Pinnacle Building they should just pick up a good syndicated show and save the expense of a local show.

I did enjoy the "Ask The Mexican" bit last Friday but it wouldn't play well every night, as a weekend feature it could work. Then they could move Sean Rima to do a nightly show for LA. Or maybe some kind of wheel with Rima, Resnick, and even Rich Marotta on different nights.

A couple of possibilities to consider anyway.

Joe "Pags" just strung together 3 different crutches. Nice going. I wonder how many he can manage in one segment.

Pags is weak. Must be one of San Antonio's pet projects.

Pags was a CC hump doing fill-in and weekends in Albany while he co-anchored local CBS TV affiliate 6PM news. He got in with the San Antonio folks and wound up moving but still did an Albany weekend spot from TX. He was a nice guy who didn't really do the typical CC angry-white-conservative host too well. I could hear him doing fruit cake recipes...

hahahahahahaha!

Yeah I heard he did a fill in for someone in LA... he also does a morning show in Houston and his show in SA in the afternoon. I'm glad they changed him to afternoons because I hated waking up to his crap. He is always insulting mexicans and he talks so fast the listeners couldn't understand what he was saying. I can't wait until he moves on from SA, the sooner the better.
