Joe Piscopo gave me a headache.

It seems Craig Carton is out today and Joe Piscopo joined Ray Rossi on NJ1015 and Hijacked the show from Ray with an infommercial for the Sands Hotel. Joe doesn't shut up pluging everything from car dealers to XM and Sirius satelite radio jumping from topic to topic like he had A.D.D. It was a train wreck and I had to for the first time in years switch stations.

OK it's safe to listen now Joe has left the building. I agree with you it was an hour long plugfest with Joe stealing the show from Ray and adding no entertainment value what so ever. I am sure Ray must be kicking himself for booking Joe on his show. I was also shocked when Joe plugged XM and Sirius radio. Talk about biting the hand that feeds you. Again Ray probably regrets having him on and may hear about it from managemant, it was bad.

Star granted that NJ101.5 has strong talk show hosts with local content but their parent company has to worry about all the other radio stations they own who will be affected now or in the future by XM and Sirius and doesn't need Joe pushing it on NJ1015. If I was the head of Millennium I would be annoyed that Ray was not in control of the show and allowed Joe to take over with all his plugs.
Edited by Foxradio on 08/24/05 09:56 PM.

On a similar topic, has anyone else noticed that absolutely EVERYTHING (especially on the morning show) is sponsored by something now? The business report, the sports report, the first two minutes of top of the hour news before traffic, the breaks and liners (okay maybe that's stretching it). that and it's full of those natural-language ads which drive me insane (so i found this piece of material on my desk the other day...)

Um... it's always been like that.

Has it? It just seems like lately every other line has a new sponsor (I know business and sports were always sponsored they were just first things that came to mind).

I never really noticed the natural language ads (is there a term for them?) the hosts read until jim started w/ the Sleep Number bed ones a few months ago.

Sorry if calling you Star reminded you of someone else but in the future I will refrain from saying anything remotely negative about anything or anyone in regard to NJ1015 since it appears to upset you. No hard feelings.
Edited by Foxradio on 08/25/05 04:43 PM.

Yea, it's kinda been like that for a while with the spots like the Sleep Number. But you're right, everything is sponsored so much more lately.

This portion of the news is brought to you by...this segment is brought to you by...

Every two minutes is sponsored by someone. I guess they've got more bills to pay.
______________

Actually, Craig worked out Joe coming on the show for an hour. He was on the phone during the show on Tuesday. So Ray had nothing much to do with it.

That hour was sort of a train-wreck. Although as much as I love Ray, he is sort of a train-wreck by himself anyway. You can tell that Craig must always pick the topics because with Ray on himself, the topics are so boring.
______________
