Joe Scarborough Mocks Ed Schultz After Meltdown

According to a report from The New York Post's Page Six, MSNBC host Ed Schultz apparently lost his temper over his likeness not being included in network promos for election coverage.

During a phone call, the host of "The Ed Show" allegedly shouted to the recipient at the other end, "I'm going to torch this [expletive] place!"

A source claims that Schultz was later reprimanded, informed that he would be fired after he blew another such gasket and then reportedly "broke down crying."

A witness said, "It was like Mel Gibson had entered the newsroom."

Meanwhile, it was likely "Morning Joe" host Joe Scarborough was in the presence of Schultz's raging rant, because at the close of his show the following day, he was seen jokingly walking off the set, shouting, "I'm going to torch this place!"

More info, including video of the aforementioned "Morning Joe" clip:

I am surprised that Schultz wasn't fired for his comment. Maybe Schultz is upset that there is hardly any audience for MSNBC, thus a majority of TV viewers have no idea who he is.

As for "Morning Joe"; bring back Imus in the Morning. Imus at least was amusing. Joe and Mika are boring as hell.

Is there any wonder why MSNBC has no viewers? When you put psychotic people like this on the air, who the hell wants to watch?

I detest Ed Schultz' politics, but I am really starting to think this poor fellow
is in dire need of some professional help.

There is another factor in this situation. I don't know about other parts of the country, but where I live you have to pay for Premium Level Services before MSNBC is even available to you. It doesn't matter whether you are politically psychotic or not. How can there be audience where the program is not available?

Things that make us psychotic people go HHMMmmmmmmmmmmm!

By the way... if we are going to start labeling some of the Talk Folks as psychotic, wouldn't Rush and Beck also qualify? And up until reading your post, I thought being psychotic about politics was the secret of success. ::)

What is it today with people and their tirades? Maybe Mr. Schultz has some serious medical issues that needs to be addressed. Or its possible that the guy is unhappy in his present work environment. Life is too damn short to let work ruin your health. Find another job if one is miserable in their current profession.

Most news and talk show anchors have had their psychotic episodes. The classy people do it behind closed doors so that very few know about it.

The article says "New York Post’s Page Six reports the MSNBC host, whose 6pmET show features a segment called 'Psycho Talk,' had an epic meltdown earlier this month after being left out of MSNBC promos about the election coverage."

Now what ulterior motive would the New York Post, corporate sibling of MSNBC competitor Fox News, have to ever post such an article?

Hmmmm...

(C'mon, people. Google makes this stuff *easy*! Like the fact that the Ground Zero "Mosque" is being financed by Fox News' second largest shareholder...)

Nothing worse than a crybaby Liberal. SEnd him back to North Dakota.

But I thought all liberals were "cry babies." Or maybe I'm confusing that with "bleeding hearts."

I've seen video tape of O'Reilly having a meltdown, and another video of Laura Ingraham acting like a whiny spoiled brat. No reason a liberal can't blow a gasket either, is there?

Just as soon as they have a meltdown about not being included in a promo and threaten to burn down the studio, sure. We can put them in that catagory. But until then, Eddie stands alone.

El Rushbo and the Beckster will have a long wait for the shrinks as the docs will be busy
for at least a year treating psychotics Olbermann and Maddow. :D

Willie Geist is the only person I actually liked on that show. Last time I watched Morning Joe in its entirely, Joe went on and on about the Boston Red Sox and Mika was constantly glaring at something. This was last year.

At least on those rare mornings when both Mika and Joe were out and Willie was the main host, the show seems to run better in my opinion.

In today's society, we are, for the most part, way too stressed. That may sound simplistic to some but look at the way we're living. I blame part of it on information overload. It's not good for our brains, hearts or souls. Most of us hold it together. Some just can't. Oh yes, and greed. Greed has bred Uber-Competition. Companies (shareholders) don't want to just win any more, they want to decimate every one and thing in their path. Politics is just window dressing for these corporations. If Fox News knew they could make more money with a Liberal bias, they'd do it. Companies don't have principles, just profit and loss statements. And if we, as a society, don't slow down, recognize each other as human beings, and stop taking everything so personally, we will just see more and more "meltdowns." O-k, thank you. I'm off my soap box now. At least I'm not passing the collection plate, brothers and sisters.

I hate to break this to the majority of you, but you have been punked by DToTheJ, who had been a regular contributor of audio material to Stephanie Miller. Stephanie, like Ed Schultz, has a progressive radio talk show syndicated by Dial Global. I subscribe to both podcasts.

The New York Post piece was the headliner of Thursday's show. The events didn't happen. As his fill-in, Errol Louis of the New York Daily News and Ed's New York affiliate, WWRL, told Big Eddie, when you appear in Page Six, you have officially arrived. ;D

Shame on DtotheJ for leaving the bulk of you with egg on your face. :D

There is no way we're more stressed out than in my parents generation or previous generations. The problem is we now have two generations of young people (under 50) who have never been taught how to cope with life's problems.

Life is so unfair, boo hoo hoo... In my day we knew life was unfair but the difference is we were taught how to cope with this unfairness.

In the words of Saffy to her mother Eddie (From "AbFab")

"Get through? Mum, you've absolved yourself of responsibility. You live from self-induced crisis to self-induced crisis. Someone does your hair, someone chooses what you wear, someone does your brain, someone tells you what to eat and three times a week someone sticks a hose up your bum and flushes it all out of you!"

Dr. Laura will be in later this afternoon ;)
