Joe Torre passes away

Yet another radio friend has passed on: Joe Torres, Jr. We knew him as Joe Torre from WTPA and Starview. Obit is in The Patriot-News today (3/19). May he rest in peace.

My condolences; I suspected it was not the Dodgers manager but I would expect a lot of
people clicking on this thread out of curiosity (certainly the board it's placed on would
be a bit of a giveaway that it isn't the ballplayer/manager, but...)

I worked with Lou a couple of times back in the '80s. Most people just called him "Torre" (Torry).

Oh no! What did he die of? I also used to work with him at the old FM 104. We used to hang out together all the time, but we lost touch after I moved on to another station out of state. Geez.....first Jammer and now Torre. And they are all too young to go.

Worked with Lou at the River years ago. Always liked him...admired him for his music knowledge...loved him for keeping the studio clean...ADORED him for his off-beat sense of humor. Was saddened and scocked to hear of his passing. Anyone ever find out why?
