OK, you guys know I am not a huge fan of vocal cuts, and I am typically very selective about the ones I add to my rotation. But I have to tell you that I REALLY liked this CD. Very nice vibe throughout. Very few vocals get my head boppin', but this one hit the spot for me for some reason, particularly the first five tracks. For those who listen to James Lewis' "UK Soul Chart" weekly, I guess the best way I can describe the feel of this CD is "neo soul." It has that 70s slow jam vibe combined with contemporary elements. And there a couple of instrumental surprises as well, to include "Where Do We Go From Here" and "The Letter" (an upbeat tune that contains nice scatting reminiscent of some late 80s Checkfield cuts I recall). Worth a listen, IMO.
