Joel Jenista, RIP

Just saw on a tweet, that long time ticket overnight board op, Joel Jenista has passed away.
So sorry to hear this news.

He lived with ALS for several years and worked at the Ticket as long as he was able to. He made it almost five years after his diagnosis. RIP.

Remember hearing the segment on the hardline (i think) when he announced his diagnosis. Sorry for his family.

I also remember him in a segment saying he'd gone camping in the Ozarks or someplace remote the week of 9/11 and didn't learn what happened until he got home the following Sunday.

Joel was an interesting guy.

this makes me very very sad. thank you for sharing. he was a terrific, and sweet friend.

I handed off the controls to Joel many, many nights at the Mockingbird building. Joel was an awesome guy, I truly enjoyed our late-night conversations.

I think we were the first to dance-mix the Ticket shouts & jingles over network shows so they fit perfectly, and maybe had a little unspoken competition doing that.

RIP

Thanks for the info. Tough news to hear. I had the privilege of meeting Joel and that guy had more passion for radio in his pinky finger than most of us have in our entire bodies. RIP.
