Flipping through the dials this morning and who do we hear but legendary JOEY MITCHELL, the lone local voice on K-HITS 92.1 -- taking phone calls, playing the oldies...but not in the best of voice. Sounds like he might be a bit on the ill side.
Last time Joey was heard anywhere near Sacramento radio was a couple of years ago on then-KCEE 103.3 in Grass Valley, where he brokered an afternoon show full of eclectic music, traffic reports and a lot of his clients from his "Joey Mitchell Productions" ad agency.
I've always found Joey to be a good guy, very professional and easy to work with. Nice to see he's found a day job -- my fear is that, like most every other First Broadcasting gig, it's a "temp" job.
