I'm still listening to the stream from WLS....and as
John's Biggest Fan (since 1972), He's sounds great -- you
still hear his great style of communication.

John, if you read this or if someone tells you about it --
Kudos to another great show! Parts of it goes into my
personal collection.

Greetings from way down South!

I had the opportunity to meet Mr. Landecker when I was a sophomore in high school in 1976 and he was on WLS doing evenings. I worked for a small high school radio station and had the thrilling chore of doing a one-hour weekly interview program (I know, but in high school, it *was* a chore!). After making an appointment, Mr. Landecker was kind enough to clear well over an hour of time for me at WLS, and I was able to go in and prove my <begin sarcasm warning> incredible interview skills <end sarcasm warning>. Mr. Landecker was cordial, pleasant, and above all, quite patient with me, and made a point to give answers the made my marginal skills look far more polished than they were. In my eyes, had I wound up going into the business, I believe Mr. Landecker would have been the model I would have attempted to emulate from the first day to the last day of my radio career.

I know it's been said over and over, but I can't say it enough: John Landecker is the ultimate professional...and was so, even at a time when his ego could (and by some rights, *should*) have been huge.

Not only that, but "Records" truly is his middle name!

I wonder how'd he fare as talk host on the big 89? Say Saturday 7 to Midnight, no issues and politics, just talk pop culture and stuff. <P ID="edit"><FONT class="small">Edited by 317C50KW on 09/17/05 01:34 AM.</FONT></P>

Re: THE LEGEND

Landecker did an audition weekend on WLS's talk format several years ago (it was during the first Clinton administration)..replacing Bob Brinker for a weekend. He sounded fine then. I'm sure he'd be a great addition.<P ID="signature">______________
