John Batchelor back on Sunday Nights-WABC

John's show started strong, but faded very badly. I doubt it has any credibility left to interest other stations and the replacement for Drudge probably has large clearence.

His time slot is actually Sunday night, 7-10 so it fits in before the Drudge replacement. However, for now, his show is simply a local one on WABC. He apparently also has a gig over at KFI in L.A. that is later in the evening. His show could certainly be syndicated (by Premiere?) as a lead in to the Drudge replacement - Sundays are pretty slow on talk radio.

On a different note, I happened to be driving through the NY metro area on Sunday evening and caught about half of Batchelor's show. He is basically using the same formula as before, which I like because it is pretty interesting. In fact, it helped to pass the time very well while driving through that ugliness known as the New Jersey Turnpike.

Batchelor's show is a bit highbrow to work just anywhere. But, I do think that Boston is the sort of market where such a program might do reasonably well. First, we'll have to see how it goes in New York.

Agreed. I thought his old show was probably the most interesting and useful, in terms of meaningful information and intelligent guests, of any. It was probably helped by the fact that instead of taking callers, he held conversations with people who knew what they were talking about. His production people also did some nice work with the news collages they used to put together for the show. The only real dud was that 'Intelligence Expert', John Loftus, he had on every night who was never, and I mean never, accurate in his analysis and predictions.

He should be on every night, even on the overnight if necessary. But, you're right, he requires a somewhat sophicated audience to work, and he probably wouldn't fly with the legions of brain dead who listen to Noory.

I was able to pick him up off of WABC after WRKO, for some reason, dropped him. The early time slot may preclude that now. Too bad, if it does.

Regards.

After they got rid of Alexander --who didn't go silently--the show went from right to far right and IMO bombed. Some of the stuff they said about Valerie Plame for example, was disgusting.
I** I remember Loftus insisting for weeks that Saddam was hit on the first day of the war and that imposters were taking his place at filmed walk-abouts
