List me as a fan. With a big asterisk. The asterisk is that I'm not a fan of talk radio.
With terrestrial music radio having decomposed over the recent decades, though, there often isn't much of a choice. I do a lot of home-repair work solo and always bring the portable -- basements, rooves and in between. Sometimes I can't change stations readily, so that radio better kick through with something interesting. Batchelor is interesting.
Other talkers who 'do it' for me past a quarter hour, in no particular order .....
Michael Smerconish WPHT -- open to others' thoughts
Lou Dobbs WOR -- he lets his guests do the spewing for him
Michael Savage WOR -- he sounds like my Dad on a thoughtful eve
Mike Francesa WFAN -- maybe I haven't tuned in enough to hear
why some people list him as a jerk
Dr. Reggie Bryant, formerly WRTI -- Theeee best I ever heard,
period. When I was gutting and re-doing
this house and when the WRTI jazz stopped,
I could not tune out this guy.
Bruce Jacobs, various sports venues -- Funny as blazes.

On the other side of the dial-twist :
Bill Cunningham -- One AQH and you've heard the full routine.
Rush Limbaugh -- Hasn't completed a sentence in three administrations.

John Batchelor makes me listen.
