John Bell "Demeaned" By Howard Stern

In an extensive interview, former Z100 "Morning Zoo" and "Elvis Duran Morning Show" member John Bell tells how he took offense to Howard Stern effectively besmirching Bell and his situation while reading an article about his dismissal on the show.

"I am certain that he knew that Elvis Duran has been the morning show host for the last 15 years, because Stern is a radio guy," Bell says, adding that the SiriusXM host "was his typical cynical self... I guess you could call it demeaning."

Also, Bell predicts that current Elvis Duran show affiliates will start dropping the syndicated show, in the wake of a Tampa station dropping the program.

I just clicked on your name to bring up your profile and it shows that you have averaged almost 7 POSTS EACH DAY for the LAST 3 1/2 YEARS!!! In other words, you have posted to this board not just EVERY DAY for the past 3 1/2 years, but you have posted about 7 TIMES EACH OF THOSE DAYS. Obviously, you enjoy doing this, but don't you think you're being (to say the least) a bit obsessive? You would serve yourself well by taking at least a brief break from this.
 
I like John Bell and he has made some great contributions to the Morning Zoo and Z-100.
I also understand that getting canned hurts a lot. I really feel for him.
However, for someone who has been in the radio business as long as Bell, it seems like he's either really out of touch with reality, or just needs to take a step back and handle this a little better. It sounds like sour grapes at this point.

Bell has it nailed, though. Stern is obsessive about radio. He knows who everybody is. That's just Stern's "schtick". He does that all the time. Probably makes him feel good to belittle others.

Agreed. Bell comes off petty and bitter. Predicting his old show will lose affiliates is not really nice or probably accurate. I think they sound better than ever
