John Bolaris to join FOX 29?

Last week the rumor was that he was going to the NBC o&o down there because someone was leaving.
If you had to deal with PR people for television stations, you would know that they the almost never comment on personnel issues as standard procedure. You could call every PR person for every TV station in 100 miles of New York and ask them if Bolaris is moving to their station and their response would be some variation of "We do not comment on personnel matters." You would most likely even get the same response from WCBS asking if Bolaris was staying at the station. What you have there is some speculative rumor mongering from a fifth rate newspaper.

Bolaris' deal is up in December and after getting demoted to weekends in favor of Lonnie Quinn, he's out the door the day his deal is up. Unless someone else in NYC picks him up, which I'm not sure of their market situation at the moment, him coming back to NBC 10 is a very logical fit. Personally, I don't buy the FOX 29 rumor (neither does Michael Klein, based on reading the article). I speculated on him at NBC 10 in the second post that Julius linked.

Why?

(1) Guarino is popular at FOX 29 and is established there.
(2) Snowbirds really like Guarino and I doubt there are a lot of bad vibes towards Rob G. from viewers.
(3) NBC 10 needs two meteorologists.
(4) NBC 10's ratings are tanking (from what I have seen). Bolaris would instantly give them buzz and a spark, something that they haven't had over there in a while.

I think Schwartz and Bolaris would end up splitting the evening shifts -- Bolaris would get the 5:30, 10 PM on PHL, and 11 while Schwartz does 4, 5, and 6 -- much like the Cecily/Dave Roberts arrangement at PVI.

To me, that would make sense. Bolaris & "Huricane" were very good friends back then, so I would not rule out "Blizzard" Bolaris returning to NBC-10. Only time will tell.
