John Boy & Billy

How are their ratings in Charlotte????? I know they are BAD in GSO....I doubt it'll be much better in Raleigh. What could they do to shake things up and get back in the game?

as many calls as Two Guys Named Chris get from Raleigh & Charlotte
every day, Fat Boy & Silly best watch their back.

Word is that JB&B will only be live one day a week. Live on Mondays,
then VT Tues. & Wed. Then in on Wed. to VT Thurs & Friday. If that's
not phoning it in, what is?

I had heard that management seemed serious about syndicating "2 Guys", so we'll see if anyone in Charlotte bites. The show might be able to do well, but I don't see the End dumping B&T for 2GNC (even though neither show is a great fit for that station). Maybe if the current morning show on 96 Rock goes down, CMG would consider 2GNC, but they seem committed to playing some music in AM drive (for now).

The real question is: Why has Bob and Tom failed to click in the 3 biggest markets in NC. When CC put them on 94.5 in GSO/W-S, they did nothing. Obviously, they couldn't do crap on 'RDU. I think they are just the "path of least resistance" on The End. So, why does a station that does so well in other markets, have trouble here? Is it just that JB&B have done the southern version of B&T for many years (at least in the ears of the listeners), so B&T sound "old hat" to NC listeners?

I doubt Chris & Chris would start asyndication run on a CC station so close to their home base. To me, JB&B and Bob & Tom are the same damn show....just one in Indy and one based in Charlotte. It seems that even though it's a syndicated show, JB&B would have EVERYTHING it takes to succeed. They are name brands, they are still "Ca'lina boys" even if they are piped in...It's probably that they've just done the exact same show for the last 7 years. Look at ALL the syndication in the state.... Bob & Sheri, Ace & TJ, JB&B, Bob & Tom....is Chris & Chris the ONLY successful local morning show in NC???? TQR is local, but not nearly as good as they used to be...same with Murphy....LOTS of mediocrity in the morning....

The fly on the wall tells me that not only are JB & B planning to do what was mentioned above (except I heard they would be live twice a week), but that they plan to hang it up completely with the next 3 years and retire.

Same fly tells me that 2GNC most definitely ARE feeling out the syndication waters. A major announcement will be forthcoming if this info is accurate.

Hey, when are Opie & Anthony gonna spread their 'virus' to the Tar Heel State?

JB&B are tired, they are live Mon. Tues. & Wed. and tracked Thurs. Fri. & Sat.
Look for them to pack it in 3 to 5 years from now. They still pull descent numbers with males 25 - 54 in most of their markets. Look for them to be making some station switches in 07 leaving some that have stuck with them hanging. The way John Boy smokes and drinks, he's gotta be on the verge of some problems at his age. Look for 2 Guys Named Chris to syndicate in 07 as well. ;D

Am I the only one who thinks 2 guys named chris only win by default in Greensboro? I find them unfunny and very dull most of the time, spiced with a few tidbits of mediocre. I don't listen that much, but JB & B have been phoning it in for so long they are painful to listen to.

Amen Manwhore...

Chris and Chris are okay, but, in comparison to what JB & B put out on a daily basis the 2 guys are really good radio. It's amazing that despite what the "books" say and what different focus groups say and how many times they fail in markets (look at Raleigh) -- JB & B still get the nod. [EDIT]
