John Brooks retiring after 34 years at KNX-KFWB

John has put in 34 years at local all news all the time KFWB "News 98" for most of that time, and the last handful of years at KNX 1070. 22 of those years as a street report and a dozen as news anchor on KFWB from the mid 80s thru mid 90s. John was always the consummate professional with a polished delivery and ear for a story. John was also committed to this market and his craft happily enduring an extra long commute from his home situated well outside the signal reach of KFWB. Mazal Tov John!
 
Brooks joined KFWB in 1979 as a news editor and then became a general assignment reporter and finally a news anchor. He moved to KNX in 2009. He began in radio in 1969 at WARC-FM, the student-run station at Allegheny College. Since this is a radio discussion site, here is the link for anyone who wants to hear the station:
