John C Scott gone?

Has The Jolt let John C Scott go? Some guy out of LA on yesterday and now he's off the schedule on their website.

Anyone have any insight to share?

If KJLL had any sense, they'd drop the syndicated right wing programs and replace them with more local content similar to what Mr. Scott offers. There's conservative talk all over the place. Local public affairs is hard to find. People tend to be interested in what goes on close to home.

any word on what happened here? tiff with aldona? better autonomy elsewhere? retirement? moving to israel?

I caught the tail end of John's show on Friday and he indicated he would be back Monday. Just noticed that the Jolt's website now shows him back in the 3-5pm slot. Website also shows some other changes from earlier in the week including "Various Brokered Shows" in the 6-6:30pm slot that I believe was previously occupied by Nicole Cox.

Really, LOCAL daily updates on how long the drive thru line is at the new IN N OUT would be pretty cool....

Of course, there is no limit to the trivia that might be presented as local news and public affairs. But there are plenty of legitimate issues that would concern listeners who possess brains. A few that might generate an audience include:
Should real estate developers be allowed to do anything they want with Tucson?
How much traffic congestion must we withstand before freeways or expressways will be built?
Is a billion dollars to rebuild downtown the best possible use of public funds?
Is there any limit to the number of Mexican immigrants that should be welcomed to Southern AZ?

What we're getting from 690, 790, 104.1 and much of 1330:
Drop more bombs on the Middle East
People are poor because they are lazy.
More people should be locked up for longer periods of time. More should be executed.
America is in a state of moral decay.
Jesus likes conservative Republicans.

I'd like to see more talk programs like John C. Scott's. And I think advertisers would support them. They could even generate decent ratings. Only drawback is that they cost a little more than plugging in the conservative talk network.

John C. Scott has not left the building

No changes at the Jolt with regard to John. Maybe the Jolt webmaster had one too many Jolt sodas but John is still there. Do not rush the stage. Sorry, John, a quiet '07 election cycle for ya but just wait until next year!

I recall that Scott claimed "Growth pays for itself" ad nauseum on his former station.
