John Candelaria Steps Down As WMGC/WDMK OM/PD

https://radioinsight.com/headlines/184976/john-candelaria-steps-down-as-wmgc-wdmk-om-pd/

Beasley has announced that John Candelaria is out of their Detroit operations after 2 years.

John Candelaria has stepped down as Operations Manager and Program Director of Beasley Media Classic Hip-Hop “105.1 The Bounce” WMGC, Adult R&B “105.9 Kiss-FM” WDMK Detroit and Gospel “Detroit Praise Network” after two years at the helm.

Candelaria, who also served as Beasley Media’s Urban format captain, came to Detroit in 2018 to program WMGC and added the other two stations upon Beasley’s acquisition of them from Radio One last summer.

John Candelaria was the man responsible for reformatting and revitalizing 105.1, The Bounce, for Beasley Media. He's heading back to his hometown of Albuquerque. The indication is that this was his decision as opposed to him being a victim of virus related cutbacks.

He did a great job for Beasley with this station. Whether the station can maintain its momentum without him remains to be seen.
