I am new to this board, but I am so happy I found it! I want to say how pleased I am with KLIF’s afternoon guy, John David Wells. Not only is he informative, but funny and witty. His show adds life to the afternoon drive home after a hard days work. I love his Good Bad and Ugly segment he has each day. Where does he find this stuff? I heard him last week pulling double duty mornings and afternoons. WOW!!! He did a superb job both drives. A true professional and talent to the DFW area. I wish him continued success here and with his show “The Wells Report”. He has a GREAT team on his side! Hats off to JDW and all at KLIF! :D

Regarding the notion of me taking to this, or any other board with an alias...That simply won't ever happen.

I believe that anything that is said publicly, and certainly about radio as we find it today, should be said with real purpose, and attached to a real name....or should remain unsaid. Don't you agree?

Yes John , I agree. I am just an average joe enjoying the world of Talk radio and the internet. Why are some people quick to judge? I don't understand.... Anyways, I was pleased to see you visit these boards and are pro active in the radio world. Again, keep up the great work and continue to push forward for the common man. We do appreciate it! :D
 
Hey Nut... as I'm sure JD can attest, things were different in radio before UBER-CORP took over and ruined that thing in this business we called, uh, what was that again... oh yeah, TALENT. Many bloggers, jocks and dare I say, PDs are not skewered with their thoughts, just scathed. So, figure that... it's not personal, just business (a token slogan many of us have heard at least once in our lives during our illustrious tenure in the biz.) ;D

Oh, and JD, keep voicing that purpose... comes across well, genuine.
 
Read the Las Vegas boards. Nut is most likely his biggest fan from Las Vegas and is following his "brilliant" career in the Dallas-Fort Worth market.
 
So we get KLIF's two 'knights in shining armour' together for some 'stimulating talk' this morning and what do we get ? The wells report guy who has clearly already taken his pre- op medication prior to his 'visit to the dentist' waffling on about "pies" and jumping in with a 'weather and traffic report' (what is it that fascinates these two KLIF guys that they seem so preoccupied with this subject when they have a perfectly good traffic guy standing by ? ) "Mayor Bolton" (read, I will never have guests on the show and never get angry - though, who now has guests on the show and gets angry) - his nervousness at where this inpromptu conversation is going - suggesting an APB for the real "JDW" while still applauding JDW on his "KLIF employee of the month' award ( as if it were some Katie award he had just won) .... Stimulating talk indeed, stimulating talk indeed.

footnote: isn't employee of the month an example of a winner and a loser at the same time ?
 
Just to set the record straight for all you "speculators" out there...I have lived in the Dallas area for over 40 years, I am retired, and I have enjoyed talk radio most of my life. I have never even been to Las Vegas (Someday maybe) and I have never worked in radio. I also just discovered the world wide web, hence this bulletin board. Why is it such a crime to enjoy the show of "The Wells Report"? To each his own I guess :D
 
The "Wells Report" is a fine program. Very stimulating, like watching grass grow. As informative as The Three Stooges. Congratulations to J-DW on employee of the month. The janitor must not be cleaning the floors like he should, guess KLIF had to give it to somebody. ???

Very well said Little. It is quite obvious Grass has a personal issue with John Wells. If he (grass) in fact does have a show, I would love to listen. But my guess is he does not. Usually when you rant the way he has been, it is just futile bickering. The fine work that Wells has been doing certainly has earned him recognition with his recent employee award. Congratulations JDW! In my day, that was quite an achievement and it still stands today! Keep 'em coming! From where I sit, TWR will be on KLIF 570 many years to come and I look forward to them. The only person security will be escorting out is Grass trying to get the microphone away from JDW to be on the air! :D
 
Cumulus has written off KLIF, this is budget talent that works cheap.
 
Is it me having a senior moment or are there 2 quotes missing from "Grass is Greener" and "Little" in there user name? Little made some very good points too... :D
 
Is he up against the former micro-waved Pizza shop manager who does a mid day show with a squeeky voice?McFarmland also said that "he was a gen-X er, and therefore didn't read books"...we need better than that

It is not a "crime", just a waste of time. Your afternoons could be spent more wisely. And don't be so hard on yourself about "senior moments". Your memory is just fine..... ;)

Hey Jon if you read this tell your pd i'd like to hear more variety in the promos. On the overnight show klif runs only you and the morning guy promos for a full 3 minutes. How about some produced Savage, O'Reilly, Beck promos to balance it?

Other than that I enjoy your show.
 
I get a laugh out of this posuer. He comes on, saying he is there to "represent the average Joe" or some such marlarkey, and then proceeds to put out some of the most far-right crap I've ever heard as if he is reading it from a script. And his self-important "report", as if he has something intellectual to say. The guy is a putz. Cheap talent, on loan from God.
