John Henning

You are kidding me...a legend like John Henning and three comments with all one liners is all he gets---compared with all the other ridiculous topics on this forum---disgusting. Last of a dying breed. Class, tough and fair are some adjectives to be used to describe John. Not like some of the "flash over substance" reporters we see today. John, I,for one, will miss you.

He was one of the greats in Boston TV, in the days before " If it bleeds, it leads" tabloid (sunbeam) TV and Facebook journalism ( WBZ)

I guess you'd call him " old school"

Sometimes things just speak for themselves.

Even as a teenager around 1970, I always watched the old WHDH-TV Channel 5 for their newscasts with Jack Hynes weekdays, and John Henning on the weekends. They always seemed so much more serious and professional about what they were doing...even way back than...when the other channels already seemed to be starting to evolve to a more "happy" news approach...
