John Kincade and Steak Shapiro out at 680

My problem with the Fan is their AM sounds horrible on every radio I have listened to. Their FM is basically non-existent OTP. If they would fix either one I would listen more.

I'm saddened to hear this. Both of these guys have been a big part of the Atlanta sports radio landscape. This year has not been a good one for many of us.

IMHO John Kincade has really grown as a broadcaster over the years. I assume he still does his 2-hour Sunday morning show on the CBS Sports Network. I also think he and Buck Belue had excellent chemistry. I know Steak has some other things going on.

I wish them both the best.

I have been thinking for the last two or three years that Dickey Broadcasting would retire the Buck & Kincade Show at either 20 years or 5000 shows on the air. The show made it to 20 years last month. John always made a point of mentioning the show number at the start of each new show. What was the final number of B&K Shows?

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports that remainder of the WFOM hosts will move to WCNN and move to a simulcast of the Fan with owner David Dickey telling the newspaper, “until I start building more new shows and talent for further expansion.”

According the the AJC, the new WCNN lineup will feature former “92.9 The Game” midday co-host John Michaels joining incumbents Sandra Golden and Brian Finneran on “The Front Row” from 6-9am. WFOM 9am-12pm hosts ‘Hometeam’ Brandon Leak and Joe Hamilton will move the WCNN from 9-11am, while Nick Cellini and Chris Dimino move to 11am-1pm. Hutson Mason and Tug Cowart will move from WFOM to join Buck Belue from 1-3pm. Chuck Oliver and Matt Chernoff remain in afternoons from 3-7pm.

Dickey Broadcasting also owns “ESPN Atlanta 103.7” 1340 WIFN/103.7 W279CZ Atlanta.

Here is more on the changes at 680 AM.

Kincade's Sunday morning show on CBS is four hours, 6 to 10 AM. It usually aired 6 to 9 on 680 the Fan but this past Sunday it was bumped for a lengthy radio infomercial for sports betting.

I enjoy listening to Kincade's national show as up to now he could talk without Belue interrupting him every other sentence.
