Bob & Sheri never cracked the 25+ Top 10 on the Hot AC or 80's Star (if memory serves me.) The format geared toward women
should have been better. I think women tend to be less patient with long-winded jibber jab then men.
Lulu and Trish are totally opposite of what the attempted Venus' target want to hear. Both are really nice people and I won't
go into their shows good or bad points. I'd be worried if I were a fan. Hopefully we'll get to hear Trish say "hey there" for the
millionth time before something, if anything, happens.
Looking at the numbers, though, the station can be pulled out of the toilet if JK gets a fighter team of professionals
1.) If they could double the numbers they'd be in the game. That shouldn't be hard:
a.) music in the morning - forget a strong expensive local talk..get a good sounding local person.
b.) the mid-day female sounds like she'd be great working in a small market - not here... to giddy and happy go lucky.
c.) Trish and Lulu ---
d.) Can some of the 80's music and go more current A/C (some of the lighter AAA artists like Keane, Snow Patrol) with
a smaller 80's blend.
e.) LIVE LOCAL nites...no canned garbage from Jones or whoever is putting that swill on the air.
f.) I have to question the Venus approach since it alienates 50% of the potential audience.
g.) Mostly --- turn back on the old transmitter since it sounded better than the multi-expensive high-tech system that is spotty
and sounds like it's being pumped out of a sewer.
2.) The Venus advertising budget is mainly billboards, they have the largest number on urban interstates (loops, etc.)
than all other stations combined.
3.) The old gm and current ops guys went by what people told them in bars. Uh --- are those the same people (or bars)
that trade out spots for admission and/or dances??? I just had to throw that out there to keep my rep in-line of loving to
rib them for their "personal marketing."
what other ideas can anyone add --- besides flipping to Sports Talk or Country???
