Whether he should have been let go from KIFR is one thing, but what the hell is Penn Gillette doing making statements like "Mother Teresa was a very bad person"? That statement would be fine if an issues talk host said it, but Penn Gillete is a freaking magician - shut up and entertain us. When Leykis brought up the marches these past few weeks, I've tuned out... if I wanted to listen to one of our five newstalkers, I would have. Besides, the fact that Gillette, while nevertheless an atheist, is saying these things is about as shallow an attempt for ratings as Leykis' sudden shift to love cops because they compose a large part of his audience or his desire to keep undocumented aliens here so he can sleep with them.

Penn is an articulate intelligent host. He has a point of view on religion. What did mother teresa do that was so great? Did she provide birth control? No.
She 'cared for' people whom were dying of illness and starvation brought on by overpopulation.

And he is entertaining.

So she's a total wh*re, fine. The point is he's on FREE FM. Nobody listening cares about these issues. They want to talk about the new brand of softer kleenex.

Penn's comments were a joke...London's were probably as well. But, no matter how liberal the times, you cannot advocate killing someone on the air. Even if it's a joke...I've seen this happen time and time again over the years. A jock/host says someone should be killed and then is fired for it. You just CANNOT put a station in that kind of legal hot water...It's like the magic word in baseball that gets players tossed by umpires.
