John Lynch of BCA OUT?

This is shocker! Its reported on the front page. Isn't BCA a the company that John Lynch built as a successor to the Noble Broadcast group that originally started Xtra Sports?

Why did this happen, and what happens now?

This back story should be very interesting.

No more Hawaii trips. Padres are $$$$

Everyone knows in radio, that when new management comes in and says no changes will be made in staff, you can believe them, they are telling truth.

Gee, armed guards, locked doors and be on the look out for .... why it is a shoot out at Dodge City ...

...It probably ended with "John, all the shareholders appreciate what you've accomplished with BCA in the past. But WE have decided to
move in another direction"...

Expect one or more "exits", in management, and programming areas. 1700 may be history.

Garrett- You may remember his previous radio adventure was the Catholic Radio Network. Mostly gone now...try 1620 at night.

Big 121

ESPN on 1700

One thing I've noticed is the FCC lists XEPRS 1090 as being omnidirectional in the daytime, but directional at night. However, they seem to use their directional pattern 24/7. I can tell because there's no difference in strength day or night where I live (it's a few dB stronger than KNX 1070), and they have a fairly strong signal in the L.A. area, but when I went to Campo (southeast of where I live) recently, the signal was fairly weak in the middle of the day, more so than a difference in ground conductivity would account for.
Does anyone know what's up with this? What's with the discrepancy between what the FCC says (I don't know the equivalent Mexican site that gives info as detailed as a combination of the FCC site, radio-locator.com, and v-soft zip signal site) and their actual operational parameters?

They have never had the ability to switch their pattern. Ever.

Not familiar with that. I mostly associate him with XTRA AM/FM

What I wonder is, what is it that Lynch did wrong? If the stations are in financial trouble, what risk did Lynch take that turned out wrong? Padres? 1700? I'm just trying to understand, how is it John Lynch's fault. And why do I suspect the new guy is just putting the statios in line to be sold?

He was the captain of the ship and was removed from the poop deck. A bidness decision by the owners.
