John Mack Flanagan

John Mack Flanagan Wasn't he on KFRC before Don Rose took over. As Far as I know he was from the late 1960's to early 1970's.

John Mack wasn't on 610/KFRC "before Dr. Don took over." He was afternoon drive (most of the time), and Rose was mornings. I may be wrong, but I think JMF came to KFRC after Rose, maybe 1975 or so. Just before Dr. Don, mornings on KFRC were held down by Beau Weaver, now one of the top voice-over guys. When Rose came, Weaver moved to another shift, then went on to his big VO career. If you're interested, there are air checks of JMF Rose, and Weaver at reelradio.com.

JMF later worked at KCBS-FM, KYA-FM, K-Big 98.1 and Young Country 93.3. He gave up the radio biz sometime in the 90s, and (IIRC) now manages security for a large commercial building. He was back on the air briefly at the short-lived 106.9/KFRC, doing the Sunday Beatles show, and used to post on Radio Info from time to time.

Sorry, but I do not know how to get a hold of him.

Beau Weaver had stints at KHJ-AM and KILT in Texas before he became a national Voiceover artist.

I believe that JMF went to KFRC in either late 74 or early 95. He was PD at KRUX in Phoenix when I was OM there, and we drove to a Billboard in LA together. Soon after, he was called to go to KFRC to do afternoons.

Every "fact" here is wrong. Where do you get all that bad information?

some of the airchecks I downloaded said that JMF was from that era but thanks for the correction.

The JMF air checks I'm aware of are all mid to late 70s at KFRC, except for a '69 check when he was at KTKT Tucson. And that's why Roger Collins above is trying to find John - a KTKT reunion. I do seem to recall he lives in Colma - he used to talk about it on the radio. He shouldn't be too hard to find.

John was a Michael Spears hire and Spears didn't arrive until the summer of 1973. Dr. Don Rose got there ahead of him, and DDR arrived in fall of '73, so I'm thinking John got to KFRC in early 1974...about the time some KFRC refugees (including Jack Friday) went across the street to KSFX.

KTKT Tucson is holding a reunion and we're trying to find contact information for John. Would anyone have a current email address?
Roger, John is a personal friend of mine and I have his contact information. Do you know when the reunion is scheduled?
