John Manzo Signs With Nova M Radio

Press Release:

PHOENIX, AZ -- (MARKET WIRE) -- May 24, 2007 -- Nova M Radio is proud to announce that veteran talk-radio programming/operations specialist John Manzo has signed with the Nova M Radio Network as their Chief Operating Officer.

John Manzo brings nearly two decades of winning radio experience to Nova M, including very successful stretches with Saga Communications, Jacor, Clear Channel, and most recently with Air America Radio where he served as a vice president and then oversaw all aspects of "The Randi Rhodes Show."

"This is exciting -- Nova M's a young, plucky company eager to get to the next level the right way," said Manzo. "They truly understand the value of strong, productive relationships with their audience, clients and affiliates. Plus, I can't wait to work with Mike Malloy again!"

"We are very excited to have John Manzo join The Nova M Radio family," said CEO Anita Drobny. "We know Manzo is one of a kind professional radio veteran and will be a welcomed addition to our growing company."

John Manzo will oversee all aspects of helping the company add affiliates, growing the radio and web audience and sales, and the development of additional programming. Manzo will join the Nova M Radio Network in mid-June.

Attended a party to meet and greet Mazno tonight. He's a brash New Yorker, reputed to be the current boyfriend of liberal talk show host Randi Rhodes. He stated that coverage area of KPHX is an nonissue. Says the coverage the areas they need to cover are covered. Took issue with me claiming that Bruce Jacobs is the number one rated talk show host in morning drive in the Phoenix area. Improving ratings in the Phx area is his main priority. Manzo plans to spend a lot more on promotion. This is a good thing IMHO. I found Mazno to be arrogant and obnoxious, but I wish him luck. He has a lot of radio experience. Maybe arrogant and obnoxious is just what KPHX needs. Did I mention how much I hate New Yorkers telling us ignorant rubes how things need to be done?

The sound of everyone clicking their radios to 1480 is almost deafening ...........

deafeningly silent that is.

Hmm Didn't know all 10 of KPHX's listeners lived down at the Durango curve. Nice neighborhood, if you can stand the smell... .Anyone seen KPHX's ratings lately? Pretty bad to be beaten by KKNT........

My hairdryer has more wattage than KPHX. Oh for the good old days of KXXT........

I heard 1480 to about 100 miles west of phx on I10 during the afternoon on my car radio, but the signal is bad in the evening... can't even get in phx

Please share with us what you are smoking.

Once in a while, I check it out, and the signal in north central Phoenix (Central & Bethany) is quite strong. In fact, a couple of times I thought they forgot to reduce the power after sunset. Ditto for KKNT.
