JOhn Pirkle NOT THE BAD GUY

Duke is actually pulling a 3.1 which is the highest I've seen that signal since Jack. Power and the X were far below that most of the time. I don't see Duke leaving anytime soon,

Yes that is true. I had misread the other post. I thought he said Duke was "sinking" (as in the ratings) but he said "stinking" (as in he doesn't like country, haha!) I do hope they stick around though. As far as I'm concerned they are the only FM country station on my dial.

I hadn't so much noticed that listening with my wife in the car, which I admit isn't a lot of time. I have wondered throughout the years, "why not a male-oriented Country format"?. I'd think "Country AOR" could have been a hit at least in some places.

Some areas have tried that. Actually I think 105.7 Crossville was doing that about 10 years ago. I believe they were called "South 105.7". There also was a male-leaning country station at that time in my old home market of Tampa, FL: "Outlaw 92.5" which used the slogan "Kick Ass Country." As far as I know, none of the attempts have been successful in the long run.
