John Records Landecker interview

John Records Landecker is in Chicago again, but he spent some time in Cleveland at Power 108. Here's a Cleveland tidbit: in the introduction of his book, he told people to go "f---" themselves, but didn't name them. In this interview, he does, and one of them worked in Cleveland with him 8)

This is the 5th time I've tried to post...everytime I do it seems to get deleted...I worked with John and Maria on Power 108...it's true--they didn't have much chemistry...John and I had a blast on and off the air...as for the GM of 108--well, I won't go into details, but John was entirely right to tell him to F himself...
 
Landecker and Gina both went to WMJI after Power flipped. Landecker filled in for Lanigan quite a bit and did some weekend work.
 
Something seems to be up with this website. For the past few days, some more recent posts get deleted or disappear and reappear. Liz, I get and remember what you've posted (and again and again :)).
 
Didn't Landecker also do segments for WJW's "Cleveland Tonight?" It was short-lived replacement for "PM Magazine."

Liz, do you know who was part of the morning show from Power before Maria was involved. I know Jim Bosh was hired in '88, but I think it was a guy named Kelly who joined him for the "Breakfast Flakes." I'm guessing he was let go and Maria came aboard after she left WMMS early in '89. The commercial for the morning show with you, Jim and Maria was in April of '89, which I saw on YouTube with WOIO commercials and promos from that year.

BTW, I thought you, Jim and Maria were pretty awesome to hear from the aircheck from September of '89 on YouTube. Good chemistry!
 
Thanks CleveFan...Jim, Maria and I were the Flakes until Bosh was let go for Landecker...ironically, Landecker was the GM's childhood idol; hence the reason he was brought in...we knew nothing about change in show host until it happened--they kind of thrust us all together and only John and I actually clicked...Bosh is a pro, too, and has rebounded countless times...as for who Kelly was--there was a PD before my time named Big Steve Kelly...he was let go and Cat Thomas was promoted to PD...Cat hired me
