John Landecker will be filling in for Jeff Pigeon next Tuesday through Friday on WIBC. Should be fun to listen to. He has been doing fill in talk work on WGN lately.

Speaking as a self proclaimed radio geek, and as a person who owns a few video airchecks of Mr. Landecker from his WLS days, all I can say is....

....w00t!!!

I used to listen to John Records Landecker on WLS. I remember he once said he's originally from Franklin, Indiana.

It's been great to hear him on the air doing the morning show the last two days. You can tell he is a true radio professional - he hasn't missed a beat. Sounds like he's been there all his life.

His irreverant attitude and enthusiasm brings some excitement to a pretty decent, but rather predictible morning show.

Any chance Emmis could keep him on? How about JRL, Pidge and Terry Stacy together? He needs a job anyway since WJMK cut him loose.

You can also tell the on-air staff is pretty geeked up sharing the mic with him.

True Oldies, 94.7 (formerly WLS-FM--by the way), in Chicago just put a local morning show on the last few days. Depending on the stability of the oldies format in Chicago on 94.7, I wouldn't be surprised to see JRL setting in the morning DJ chair.
