mmmm... Right you are, Liberty NT! Just a bit of momentary confusion and the links between:
Memories 1580 (gainesville)
-> Eberhart <- Oldies Radio AM 1650 (north dallas)

WIBBAGE FM AND JOHN RECORDS LANDECKER

John Records Landecker, the legendary WIBG Philadelphia jock
of the 60's and 70's is on WIBBAGE FM@ 94.3 in Atlantic City.
He can be heard 7pm to midnight Eastern at www.wibg.fm
The classic WIBBAGE format has eclpsed its nearest competitors
in the recent Arbitron ratings. [www.wibg.fm]

I remember getting through on Boogie check while listening to him on WLS as a kid, ;D I was hooked on radio from then on.

I believe John is on air live mornings at WIMS 1420 Michigan City Indiana.
He still was not long ago.

Philadelphia is my home town, and needless to say, between WIBG and WFIL, I was fortunate enough to hear some of the best jocks who ever lived while growing up. One that will always stand out is the guy who let me sit on the floor of the WIBG studio while he did his show from 6-10pm. John Records Landecker. I was 19 years old and in promotions at WIBG. I drove the "WIBG Summer Gold Dune Buggy" during the summer of 1971 so I got to know John before he left for Chicago to take the WLS job. His wife would drop him off in their new Monte Carlo and he would sit in the lobby chatting with anyone who walked in until afternoon jock Long John Wade played his last song at 5:56pm. John would then walk to the kitchen and slide a six-pack of Budweiser out of the fridge and relocated it to a reachable distance under the board. It was 6 o'clock in Philly..... it was showtime....and I had a front row seat.
