John Rhadigan Thoughts?

Well, it's two games into the John Rhadigan era as play-by-play voice of the Rangers on FSSW.

Maybe a little awkward to start out interacting with TAG and pitching to breaks and stuff, but once he settles in I think he will do a good job.

Frankly, on a lot of exciting plays it seems to me as though he's remembering, oh yeah, sound excited. And there seems to be no originality in his play-calling. He sounds like a radio PBP announcer trying to do TV. John, we can see the play, we don't need to have it explained to us. And what's with the "Let's play ball, y'all"? Hokey.

I miss Josh Lewin. I'd have heard "BALL GAME!" six times already (well, four - I missed two of the games). Plus he has more of an announcer's voice - Rhadigan is nasally. (And I still miss Mark Holtz and "Hello, win column!")

Suffice to say I'm not a big fan. If I had a stereo in the house I'd turn it on Nadel and Barnett.
