CBS Cuts

BTW if you missed it "Taylor On Radio" reported CBS Radio plans to cut $80 million from the budget through on going layoffs. This can't be good. Seems like it would be hard to cut the staff at K-104.7 which is rather lean already.

Well, they're still beating the crap out of Lite.

Yes 12+ anyway. There were times when the stations would see/saw back and forth. It all depends where the diaries are placed. PPM should be very interesting! I seem to hear K-104.7 playing in more businesses than Lite, but then on my side of town K-104.7 has a very strong signal and Lite doesn't. Lite comes in okay but the signal is a little weaker than WFAE, WRFX, WSOC-FM and WKQC.

This is not to imply that Lite has a weak signal. Lite is 31KW from a 1535 foot tower in Alexis, compared to K-104.7 with 96KW at 1211 feet at the Northeast edge of Charlotte. K-104.7 has a weakness in the south due to WNOK 104.7 in Columbia, SC.

Called into the sub jock the first day Robinson was out. Guy told me he hadn't showed up for work and never called in. Wish him well. He's a good guy. Been around this market for a long time.

Jon is very professional and grateful. He is on a family leave of absence right now. He will return soon. We all miss him in the building.

Could be the signal. I thought it was because Lite, despite the name, was playing a bunch of loud music around 8 in the morning and at noon, and maybe other times.

But I haven't heard the station in a business in years. In fact, one of the businesses that switched to K doesn't even have music any more.
