I'm very sad to report that John Shadle, formerly Chief Engineer for KTAR, KKLT, KPSN (Sunny 97) and Eagle 96.9 passed away at 8:20 this morning.

Most recently, his sports engineering company handled the broadcast needs of many major sports teams including the Cardinals, the Diamondbacks, and the Coyotes.

John was 57 years old and waged a strong battle against cancer. He leaves behind two sons, Michael and Robert, a brother and sister-in-law, and a wife of two months, Janet along with her two daughters from a previous marriage.

Funeral services will be held at Ascension Lutheran Church, 7100. N. Mockingbird, Paradise Valley on Monday, September 18 at 6PM.

I had the opportunity to work with John three times...at Sunny, then at Eagle and finally at KTAR. He was a thorough pro, and one of the nicest guys you'd want to meet.

That is sad news. Everytime I'd see John in the hallway at KTAR, we'd great each other with, "Hello, J.S.!" Really nice guy.

My prayers are with his family.

Got to see John (after many years away from Houston) up in the visitors radio booth at Reliant Stadium last year when the Cardinals visited the Texans.
John you will be missed...Thoughts and Prayers for his family.
 
Very sad news indeed. I've worked with him throughout the years as many of you had. His presence in the Phoenix radio industry will be missed. See you on the other side John...peace.
 
I'm just beside myself. Who knew that someone in the role of "dear-former-coworker" would cause such a sense of mourning.
John Shadle was one of the good ones.

I had the distinct pleasure of working with John during the 96.9 studio build-out at 7th and Missouri when KMLE was in the same building. John was one of the nicest guys you'd ever want to work with-always a true pro. After a stint down in Houston, he was eager to get back to Phoenix, and was so happy when that opportunity availed itself. From all your brothers in S.B.E, farewell John. You made us all better for being on this planet.

Sad news. John will indeed be missed in so many ways. I agree with Verbose, he was one of the good ones. My prayers too are with the family.
