It was recently reported that attendance at ball games was the 6th-highest
in history this season. This, despite the obscene prices for attendance.
Pertaining to radio, the effect might trickle down for stations to stand pat with what
and who they have behind the microphones. It's a factor, anyway.

Personal observation, f w i w :
I liked the idea of adding Waldman when Michael Kay left. She knows
her sports and strategies and does the job as observent bystander quite
well. As a Mets fan I actually was warming up better to the Sterling-Kay
team than to the Mets announcers and finding them more entertaining.
But with the addition of Waldman, the new analyist, the tradition seems
to've continued -- to the point that I can say I enjoy Sterling's buffoonery.
Sometimes it's difficult to keep the scorecard -- my hobby -- free of eraser marks,
but it always had been like that with Rizzuto anyway
